SENSE OF THE BOARD RESOLUTION
CONGRATULATING POLICE SERGEANT ROBERT TYMON
ON HIS 40 YEARS OF SERVICE WITH
THE STAMFORD POLICE DEPARTMENT
WHEREAS, Stamford Police Sergeant Robert Tymon is retiring from the Stamford Police Department after 40 years of service; and
WHEREAS, Sergeant Robert Tymon has been a dedicated and effective police officer throughout his service years, working to investigate murders, and successfully bringing a serial rapist to justice; and
WHEREAS, Sergeant Robert Tymon’s life was imperiled on an occasion where a criminal fired a weapon at him; and
WHEREAS, Sergeant Robert Tymon worked for 14 years on the Accident Investigation Squad within the Patrol Division; in the Marine Police Division and the Tactical Patrol Force; and after being promoted to sergeant in 1976, spent nearly twenty years as a supervisor in the Detective Bureau; and
WHEREAS, Stamford Police Chief Louis DeCarlo has stated that Sergeant Robert Tymon is “one of the most experienced investigators in the Stamford Police Department, just by the sheer volume of crimes he has investigated;” and
WHEREAS Chief DeCarlo also cited Sergeant Tymon as always willing to share his expertise to help younger, more inexperienced officers.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the 26th Stamford Board of Representatives goes on record congratulating and recognizing Stamford Police Sergeant Robert Tymon on his forty years of dedicated service to the residents of Stamford. Thank you.
