RESOLUTION
CONGRATULATING THE
STUDENTS AND STAFF OF
ST. GABRIEL MIDDLE SCHOOL ON
THEIR HIGHLY
ACCLAIMED PATRIOTIC PRESENTATION
"TRAGEDIES AND TRIUMPHS:
20TH CENTURY AMERICA"

WHEREAS, St. Gabriel Middle School
is a secondary-level educational institution located in Stamford Connecticut
that is committed to providing value-added academic excellence in an atmosphere
that fosters not only values of faith but also promotes decisive community
values; and
WHEREAS, Patrick Flood, Robert
Wyllie, Andrew Bakowski, Brian Hahn and Joseph Dineen are all seventh grade
students at St. Gabriel Middle School; and
WHEREAS, these students wrote,
produced and narrated an evening production entitled "Tragedies and
Triumphs: 20th Century America"
WHEREAS, this dynamic production
included a spectacular PowerPoint presentation preceded by a fully adorned and
represented patriotic ceremony. The production was a riveting fact-filled
narration in a successful effort to produce a highly patriotic and historic
review of the United States over the past one hundred years; and
WHEREAS, in an effort to provide
more impact and realism to their presentation these students solicited and
received participation and support of members of the New York City Fire
Department, U.S. Coast Guard, Retired army officers and government elected
officials; and
WHEREAS, the presentation has been highly acclaimed and has been featured on Channel 71 on Thursday, June 13 at 1:00 p.m. and continuing every Thursday for the remainder of June; and
WHEREAS, it is the opinion of this
Board that these students dedication and success in expressing their patriotic
love and historical knowledge of this great country in which we live should not
an shall not fall upon deaf ears.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY
the 26th Board of Representatives of the City of Stamford fervently believes it
is necessary and appropriate to give recognition and acclaim to Patrick Flood,
Robert Wyllie, Andrew Bakowski, Brian Hahn and Joseph Dineen, and supporting
staff of St. Gabriel Middle School, including but not limited to Judith
Romanello, on this achievement; and
be it further resolved that the
26th Board of Representatives honors those parents and people in the community
who supported these students and helped to make this achievement possible.
