The Board of Representatives welcomes communications from city residents. Because we want your comments to be conveyed accurately, we recommend you put any information that you want to communicate in writing. Please provide your name and geographic location (if a Stamford resident, either a street or a neighborhood -- for example, the Cove or the West Side; if from outside of Stamford, the city and state). If you represent an organization, please provide your position (for example, vice-president). Please also include a method by which the Board Office can contact you -- a valid email address, street address or telephone number.
It is the policy of the current President of the Board that all correspondence to the Board of Representatives is public information; and all such communications (emails, letters) that do not come from anonymous sources or from "SPAM" will be published in their entirety on the Board’s website, except as follows. The sender’s name and the name of any applicable organization will be identified in each posting, but personal information such as email addresses or telephone numbers will not be posted. Notwithstanding the foregoing, upon request, any Board member can obtain complete copies of the original correspondence, with all identifying personal information. The Board Office will also provide complete copies of the original correspondence to any member of the public or the press upon receipt of a proper Freedom of Information request or to honor a valid legal request.
Anonymous communications are neither distributed nor posted on the website. Similarly, communications which do not contain a method by which the Board Office can contact the sender -- a valid email address, street address or telephone number, are neither distributed nor posted.
The Board of Representatives does not edit any correspondence and is not responsible for its content or accuracy. However, the Board reserves the right to not post any communication that it considers vulgar or offensive, that represents a personal attack or relays unsubstantiated information about individuals or organizations, or that is factually incorrect to the extent that it conveys obviously and materially erroneous information.
